I have been following Simina’s blog for quite some time and really, really love her writing. She has written a couple of series and I am always sad when it doesn’t continue, because her characters intrigue me so much. Two series I particularly enjoyed are Unmasked and Star Talker. You can also follow Simina on Twitter, but make sure you read her blog too, because she also writes about some thought-provoking subjects!
Top 3 by Simina
I didn’t really go for all the sexy with my choices for this week. I just went with what popped out at me. I guess I’m in a weird mood, but here are my top three in no particular order.
Nero Black – “What would you do with a million dollars?”
I appreciate the honesty and pragmatism of this post. My views on getting gobs of money have always tended toward the practical and frugal as well, and as an overweight person myself, this post really spoke to me.
Cara Thereon – The Wire
This piece went in a completely different direction than I expected. I enjoy twists. I’m curious to the backstory of this one. Flash fiction frustrates me that way. I wanna know things!
Alethea Hunt – The cost of sexual assault
Probably an odd choice, but as someone from a place where mental healthcare is both ridiculously expensive and hard to access, as well as justice for sexual assault being thoroughly disappointing and rare, I understand the frustration that comes with trying to seek it out. I can’t even fathom the depths of what Alethea has gone through, but I thank her for sharing her story all the same. I sincerely hope that million dollars heads your way.
I think the majority of us have had driving lessons in our lives, or some of us might be planning to learn how to drive. Some had only a few lessons before they did their driving test, others went for lesson after lesson after lesson before they were finally ready to take the test. For this week, I would love to hear about your experiences when you were learning how to drive… or, write a sexy story about someone that is having driving lessons. Or, if you don’t want to follow the prompt, just write a story and link it!
The top 3 for this week’s prompt will be done by Indigo Byrd.
