Prompt #331: Champion

Despite it being a very difficult week for her, the beautiful Eye has done the roundup for last week’s prompt, the same as she has done it for week 285. Back then I was still looking forward to meeting her, and in the meantime I have seen and talked to her at Eroticon on two different occasions. You can read her words and see her images on her blog or follow her on Twitter.

Top 3 by Eye

This has been quite a week for me gentle readers and as I write this I must beg your forgiveness for the sparsity of my comments. I am engaged in my own healing after the sudden and unexpected death of my dad on Thursday and, whilst that is giving me some issues in terms of stringing words together to generate sentences, it is also reminding me that life brings us so much, not all of it good, but in those places there is the possibility of healing hurts and growing from the experiences that we have.

With that in mind I bring you three posts all of which demonstrate a response to hurt or an intention to heal from life’s slings and arrows. A valiant cause and one I aim to pursue myself.

Choosing Change by Kisungura
The concept of C-PTSD has been paramount in my own healing. It takes time and energy to take on these new concepts and recognise the opportunity for ourselves in them and I am in awe of Kinsungura’s determination to tread that path for herself.

Vulnerability by Brigit Delaney
Brigit’s new goal of vulnerability in order to fully experience connection is truly worth it. I particularly recognised the part where she discussed the impact of avoiding vulnerability on her writing, both in terms of topics, tone and the perceived reaction of a loved one reading it. It is a new experience to me to have a relationship where honesty is both expected and desired, and that what I have to do is to show up.

Modestly Starting Out by Modesty Ablaze
My final choice is a wonderful image from Modesty Ablaze who never fails to deliver with her own particular take on a prompt and who offers us a glorious picture to illustrate it.

That’s all folks. Enjoy the other great posts this week. As always thanks to the indefatiguable Marie of Rebel’s Notes for providing us all with the opportunity to write, read and enjoy our #WickedWednesdays

Prompt

When you see the word ‘champion’ the first thing you think about might be sports. Rugby, soccer, cycling, swimming… most of us have sports we like to see, and some of us even still participate in sports. Or maybe you have when you were younger?
But, someone in your life can also be your ‘champion’ for some or other reason. No matter how you interpret the word, write a story and share for Wicked Wednesday.

As always you can also link stories that do not follow the prompt!

The roundup for this week’s prompt will be done by Mrs Fever.

Please note

  1. The rules for this meme can be found here and you can download the Wicked Wednesday badge on the same page.
  2. Don’t forget to add the Wicked Wednesday button to your post, post on your blog and come back here to link your post. You have from the moment the prompt appears until Thursday 10.00 pm (Amsterdam time) to link your post below.
  3. Please note that it is not compulsory to follow the weekly prompt. It is only here for inspiration when you need it!
  4. Please make your stories no longer than 1200 words.

Thank you for participating and please, don’t forget to visit and read the other entries too! We all love to receive comments on our entries. Spread the love!
