Last year I did the Wicked Wednesday roundup post for the first time, and back then I already knew that it will become an annual thing. I am a bit of a statistics whore and since I keep all the Wicked Wednesday prompts in an Excel file with the blogs who have linked for a specific prompt, doing the statistics is not that difficult.
So, here goes!
The first prompt for 2016 was number 188 and the last one was number 239. Effectively prompt 240 is still given in 2016, but since it is for the first Wednesday of 2017, I am declaring it a 2017 prompt.
The best week of 2016 was for prompt 200 when we had 30 posts linked. You all know I am still chasing the 50, right? Maybe we will reach it in 2017, since that is also the year in which I turn 50. Come on, make me happy!

In 2016 we had 45 new players for Wicked Wednesday.
Of the 45 new players, 13 blogs have already disappeared again, or their owners haven’t blogged for the last 6 months of the year.
Silly Numbers
These are just a number of ‘silly statistics’ that might have no meaning to anyone but myself. What can I say? I have always loved to keep track of different kinds of statistics just for the fun of it!
Looking at these statistics, it is clear that the Wicked Wednesday meme is still going strong. Sometimes a prompt just sparks a lot of posts, other times people seem to fail to find inspiration to join in. The meme will keep on going in 2017 and probably in 2018, 2019, etc too!
